Police investigate coins thrown at dugout and reports in wake of new law

POLICE were dealing with a fresh wave of hate crime complaints yesterday following a dramatic Old Firm match at Ibrox.

About 10,000 reports are estimated to have been filed by members of the public since the controversial Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act took force one week ago.

Officers were braced yesterday for complaints generated by the Rangers v Celtic showdown in Govan, which finished 3-3. Police Scotland confirmed last night it had received a relating Jeane Freen to hate crime during the game.
