Celts are horrible hosts as they feast on helpless Well
STUFFING TO SEE HERE

CELTIC enjoyed a few home comforts after playing host on Boxing Day for the first time in 14 years.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers had a minor bee in his bonnet about being forced to hit the road at this time of year more often than not.

But he was far happier as his side made it a relaxed day after Christmas where Well ended up part of the Parkhead feast.

Celts didn't exactly have the jammies and slippers on but Arne Engels scoring from the spot just before half-time and Daizen Maeda grabbing another early in the second made sure it was job done at a time when points are more important than sparkling performances.

Subs Nicolas Kuhn and Reo Hatate made it a stroll late on as Celtic banked another win without really having to hit top gear.Winning with very little drama is an admirable skill, yet this was still a slightly sore one for Well.

The penalty right on the interval after Yang Hyun-jun was brushed over by Aston Oxborough was correct but a tad tame after a determined defensive display for most of the opening half.

And Well missed a big chance to level before the killer second goal. You'd be hard pushed to claim Celtic weren't good value for the win though.

They were in points stockpiling rather than entertaining mood with a sense the real party is still to come with New Year at Ibrox heading over the horizon.

The sight of Kuhn back fit and back on the scoresheet would have given punters the most festive cheer though.
