John revels in win and vows it won't be another one-off
TEN perfect days have at last given Rangers something to smile about.
But John Souttar knows his side will again find themselves slumping from heroes to zeroes if they fail to build on this latest period of promise.
It’s been a campaign of false dawns for the Ibrox outfit with big European performances repeatedly followed by deflating, devastating domestic results.
They have now beaten Celtic for the second-successive derby, yet remain 13 points behind their Treble-chasing foes.
But Souttar is hoping yesterday's sensational show at Celtic Park will finally prove to be the turning point.
The Old Firm triumph comes on the back of their gruelling two-game shootout with Fenerbahce.
They were forced to go the distance on Thursday night as Jose Mourinho's Turks overturned the 3-1 win Rangers had sauntered to in Istanbul, surviving a test of nerve to progress on penalties.
But with just a couple of days to rest their weary legs, Barry Ferguson's men found the energy to go wire to wire again, with Hamza Igamane’s 88th-minute winner sparking bedlam in the newly restored away section.
Rangers will now have a chance to rest up over the international break and Souttar hopes that winning feeling will linger a little longer this time.
He said: "Over the last week and a half we've had three big results but that's all it is really.
