Thug commits horrific double murder and then leaves bodies to decompose
CONNOR GORDON
WICKED KILLING

AN AXE-wielding killer butchered his partner and brother in a horrific double murder leaving both bodies to decompose at two different addresses.

Peter Duffy, 47, killed Emma Baillie, 26, and John Paul Duffy, 51.

The brute strangled his partner Emma at his home in Coatbridge.

He also repeatedly stabbed her before wrapping her up in clothing.

Duffy repeatedly stabbed John Paul with a knife and struck him with an axe. He then hid his body under rubbish at his brother's home nearby.

Duffy also killed John Paul's cat Sher Khan with the axe.

The maniac claimed he found both Emma's and John Paul's bodies but did not report it as he thought he would get the blame.

Detective constable Nicola Batton told a court that police searched Duffy's home on April 12, 2022.

She stated that she made a "surprising" discovery of Emma's body.

The officer said that there was a "smell I would never forget" when she entered the house.

Judge Lord Scott said it was a "wicked killing against two people" after the jury's guilty verdict.

The High Court in Glasgow heard police attended John Paul's home to carry out a welfare check on him on April 10.

Prosecutor Angela Gray told how officers forced entry to the flat after there was no answer despite noise being heard inside.
