COLE PALMER must have felt cursed growing up as an England fan.
His first memories of watching the Three Lions in a major tournament were of the infamous defeat to Germany in the 2010 World Cup.
When Frank Lampard's shot hit the underside of the bar and crossed the line - but was somehow disallowed as England lost 4-1 and crashed out.
But if Palmer thought that was bad, even worse was to come.
Four years later he travelled to Brazil to spend time with his grandad and watch some of the 2014 World Cup.
But England had gone out of the tournament before he got off the plane in Rio.
He said: "The one when Lampard hit the bar. That's the only thing I remember about that tournament.
"Then I went to Brazil for the World Cup. My grandad Gary lives in Brazil.
"By the time I got there, England had already been knocked out! But it was great. I went to watch Belgium versus Russia.
