Jarange-Patil, who restarted his agitation at Antarwali Sarati village in Jalna district on October 25 having already held a 17-day fast for Maratha quota demand the previous month, announced his decision on Thursday evening after a delegation of four state ministers and two retired Bombay high court judges met him and requested him to call off the hunger strike.
"We are giving them (government) two months' time to complete the procedure to give us reservation. If they failed to comply with their promise till January 2, Marathas will intensify the protest by blocking the social, political, commercial and industrial nerves of Mumbai. We will head to Mumbai to show the strength of Marathas," JarangePatil said while addressing his supporters at the fast site.
