Pals starting to fear worst as they comfort each other. Gardai are extremely concerned for his wellbeing'

- PAUL HEALY

Someone must've seen something in Michael's yard

A CLOSE friend of missing farmer Michael Gaine says he believes someone must have seen something happen in his yard.

Close friends and devastated family members of Mike rallied together and comforted one another at the mart in Kenmare, Co Kerry, yesterday - as the eighth day in the search for the 56-year-old, came and went without answers.

Fears continue to grow that Mike may have been taken off his farm and murdered after he left his phone and wallet inside his Bronze Rav4 which was found in the yard.

Speaking to this paper, local councillor Dan McCarthy, who is a close pal of the missing man, said Mike would never have left such personal belongings in his car unattended.

"No he wouldn't normally leave them," he said.

"I'm making an appeal for anyone that passed the area between 10 and half past 10 in the morning last Thursday, if they seen any action in the yard at all, to come forward to the gardai.

ALARM

"Someone must have seen something because that's the main road between Kenmare and Killarney. Someone must have seen something in the yard."
