Idris Elba rules himself out of running to be next 007
IDRIS Elba has finally confirmed he will not play James Bond.
The actor, 50, said that when it comes to films, he intends to stick with his role as detective John Luther, rather than becoming 007.
Speaking at an event in Dubai, Idris referenced the long-standing speculation that he would take over from Daniel Craig as the suave spy created by novelist Ian Fleming.
He was a bookies' favourite to take over, along with Bridgerton's Rege-Jean Page, Superman Henry Cavill and Venom's Tom Hardy.
