Rashford shows the hunger new boss called for

Amorim added that Rashford "has to be the first one to want it" and that was a clear warning from Manchester United's new head coach.

Rashford has been searching to rediscover his swagger of 2022/23 and perhaps he's almost there.

The 27-year-old scored twice against Everton, firing Amorim to the first win of his tenure in the Premier League and he is beginning to tease a return to his best form.

The first of Rashford's goals took a hefty deflection off Jarrad Branthwaite but it was goalbound without the change of direction and the way he connected with the ball was impressive.

Bruno Fernandes played a perfectly weighted ball to Rashford from the corner - it was a clever set-piece routine - and the academy graduate brilliantly rifled a shot to open the scoring.
