Strictly star's relative 'forced' to board train

A YOUNG relative of Strictly star Shayne Ward was left ‘traumatised’ after being ejected from the Arndale then ‘forced’ onto a train out of Manchester, her family have said.

Martin Ward said his 12-year-old sister had gone to the city centre with her friends on Saturday to visit the Christmas markets. But, he says, she was kicked out of the Arndale then caught up in the crowds of traveller and Gypsy children who were ‘forced’ into getting onto trains leaving the city, with no idea where they were being sent.

Martin, an Irish traveller and activist for traveller and Gypsy rights, said he was among the hundreds of fans who watched as his cousin Shayne Ward performed a triumphant homecoming show at the Arndale after winning X Factor in 2005.
