TRANSPORT was disrupted, schools were closed and roads flooded as Storm Ciaran swept in early yesterday morning.

Floods affected areas including Lipson Vale, Cobourg Street and Cot Hill, Plympton, with delays for rush-hour traffic. First Great Western cancelled trains between Plymouth and Penzance and Plymouth Citybus reported disruption to its services.
Meanwhile pictures show huge waves which crashed along Plymouth waterfront.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) urged people watching the conditions to stay away from the coast.
