WAYNE Rooney admitted Plymouth Argyle's 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough at Home Park 'felt like a defeat' after they took the lead three times during the Championship match but still could not end their winless run.
The Pilgrims' boss was left frustrated his side did not secure a first victory in seven matches but he thought it was a good performance overall, with Mustapha Bundu earning particular praise after scoring one goal and setting up another from his wide right attacking role.
Rooney said: "Reflecting on the game, I thought first half we were excellent, both in possession and out of possession. We got the press right and nullified the way Middlesbrough wanted to play.
"Middlesbrough are very good attacking team and very good taking the ball and playing through lines and I thought we got our distance right, and pressure right, and forced them to go a bit more direct.
