A PLYMOUTH nurse has launched a campaign to make NHS rehabilitation services available to everyone in the UK, rather than a ‘postcode lottery’.
Intensive care rehabilitation nurse Kate Tantam has launched a petition to guarantee services that will help people recover from things like car crashes, cancer or strokes.
The Right to Rehab ‘Patients’ Firsts’ campaigners are urging the public to back calls for life-changing NHS rehabilitation services to be made available to everyone in the UK no matter where they live.
There is currently no guaranteed access to this vital care.
Ms Tantam’s campaign has received the backing of over 30 healthcare charities, as well as high-profile backing from actor Stephen Fry, who himself benefited from rehabilitation services.
