Parkway concerned as more heavy rain is set for Plymouth
The Herald
|April 05, 2024
AFTER suffering their 24th postponement of the season, with last night's scheduled match at home to AFC Totton called off due to the weather, Plymouth Parkway will be hoping for some respite before they are due to face Swindon Supermarine at Bolitho Park on Sunday.
The match had to be moved to the Sunday because former tenants Truro City were scheduled to play on the Saturday and, being in a higher league, the National South took precedence. Parkway could have reverted back to tomorrow, but with Manchester United hosting Liverpool in the Premier League, an early kick-off followed by the Premier League clash on the big screens at Bolitho Park makes for an enticing day of football.
For Parkway, it is all about them, though. The Totton game looks like it will have to be played on Thursday, April 25 as that appears to be the only available date, by which time, they will hope to be safe with manager Lee Hobbs wanting his side to get their business done sooner rather than later.
"We have had a good few days with seven points from three games and that could only have been better with nine from none, but we have made up that gap and are only one point adrift of safety," Hobbs said.
