Parkway lose their way after early strike from Beardmore

With nine of last season's squad retained, there were also nine new faces in Parkway's matchday squad. Due to the visitors' late arrival with their coach being delayed in traffic, kick off was delayed by 15 minutes.

Parkway made a sharp start creating early pressure with their patient build up play from the back with new signings Ryan Brett and Carlo Garside along with Callun Hall dominant and controlling the pace in midfield. However, it was the visitors who created the first chance in the fifth minute with on loan Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper Zak Baker doing well to claw away an angled cross from Dan Warre.

Parkway continued to dominate the early stages and Dylan Jones saw a shot blocked before the same player cut inside and created a shooting opportunity with Carlo Garside pouncing on the loose ball only to be denied by Simon Grant in the visitors' goal.

On 12 minutes, more slick buildup play wide on the lefit saw the ball played into Brett whose long range effort was tipped over the bar by Grant at full stretch before the deadlock was finally broken on 19 minutes.
