PLANNING TO EXPAND INTO EMPTY UNIT
WILLIAM TELFORD
Retro games lounge is proving to be a winner

PLYMOUTH’S new “retro gaming lounge” has been such a hit it is to expand just months after opening. The Continue? arcade will expand into the empty 1,000 sq ft unit next door to its Royal Parade base and create “party rooms” for special occasions and corporate events.

The business only opened in late May, in the former Dreams bedding store near the Barcode, but its mix of old and new video games, plus pinball machines, has delighted gamers. Now owner Austin Wood is to take over the adjacent unit which has been vacant since H Samuel closed in 2020.

It means Continue? can add between 15 and 25 games to the 45 it has already, in addition to six consoles and some table games too.
