The Potters lost 1-0 away to Oxford United on Saturday, a result which leaves them 13th in the Championship table with six points from five games. In their previous match, before the international break, they had won 1-0 against Argyle at Home Park.
Stoke’s sporting director Jon Walters said in a statement yesterday morning: “We feel the time is right for a change in direction to bring success to the club.”
Schumacher (pictured) quit Argyle for Stoke in December 2023 when he signed a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season. He took charge of the Potters for 32 games and had a record of 13 wins, six draws and 13 defeats.
