Amid ruckus MCD clears 18 proposals during in-house meeting

The new approved policy included a new film shooting policy, changes in some of the rebates provided by the property tax department, etc.

Amid ruckus, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) managed to pass 18 policy proposals, postpone three matters, and reject two items. However, no discussions were held on these proposals, which were cleared with a voice vote, although BJP members carrying placards held protests in the house, demanding the long-pending constitution of ward committees and the standing committee.

The new approved policy included a new film shooting policy, changes in some of the rebates provided by the property tax department, the addition of more than 10,000 CCTV cameras, around 3,000 security guards, and around 3,600 cleaning staff for MCD primary schools. Except for this, issues related to sanitation, cleaning of drains, the shortage of gardening staff, and issues of stray dogs and monkeys were discussed in the house meeting.
