Students From Countries Hit By Pandemic & War Fail To Turn Up

Hyderabad: The strength of international students in several state universities in Telangana has drastically reduced post-pandemic.

While the cumulative strength of international students was around 1500-2000 a few years back at Osmania University (OU), the number has now come down to just 700. In fact, during the current academic year (2022-23), only 156 students have secured their admission till date.

The admission of international students reduced by half in Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH). Uncertainty because of the pandemic, financial crisis are among the reasons cited for the reduction in the strength.
