Tiger looks for a path as h’way cuts through its home

A tiger walking through the woods reached the edge of the road early on Friday only to find that its usual path has been broken by a project and there was no way to reach the other side.

Nagpur: A passer-by on Nagpur-Umred NH353D spotted it sitting on the edge of a hill, which was a forest till it was “destroyed” by NHAI for four-laning.

In the afternoon, travellers saw a tiger—possibly the same spotted earlier in the day—crossing Chakrighat road near Ukarwahi on the highway, where NHAI has not taken any mitigation measures. A patrol team from the forest department is monitoring the tiger.
