Andheri relief for Uddhav; Nota comes second with 15% of votes

The embattled Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena found a pep pill Sunday when its candidate Rutuja Latke won the Andheri (East) bypoll, beating None of the Above.

Mumbai: Rutuja got 66,530 votes, while None of the Above, popularly known by its acronym Nota, came second with 12,806 votes, almost three times its 2019 count. The other six candidates put together got only 7,234. Nota constituted 15% of the total votes polled. In 2019, Nota secured only 4,311 votes, or 2.9% of the total votes cast.
