The girl, Mansi Sharma, had sustained head injuries after falling from the terrace of her house in UP’s Mathura district.

Prof Deepak Gupta, the incharge of organ procurement services at AIIMS trauma centre, said that in the last one month 10 children came with severe injuries after falling from height. Of these, three died including the two organ donors, Mahira (18 months) from Haryana and Mansi Sharma (seven years) from UP, because of severe brain damage.

“We want to start a campaign —‘put a net to prevent death’ — in order to make people aware about the dangers of letting children play at heights with no railings,” he said, advising people to increase the height of their balconies to avoid such accidents.
