It's back to York's Ebor meeting for the top performers since the September edition.

From the two-year-old ranks, THE LION IN WINTER had me checking if my stopwatch had broken after clocking a superb 104 when winning the Group 3 Acomb Stakes.

This son of Sea The Stars has lots of top entries later in the season including at the big Curragh and Newmarket meetings on September 28.

He's also in the Dewhurst and Futurity and Aidan O'Brien has another potential star on his hands. He saw out the 7f strongly up the Knavesmire on good ground and has more to come.

It was by far the speediest twoyear-old race of mid/late season with second Wimbledon Hawkeye and third Ruling Court also worth following closely.

DESERT FLOWER (93) was impressive when taking the May Hill at Doncaster's St Leger meeting.
