LAMBS SO SAVAGE ON SILKMEN!
The Non-League Football Paper|October 13, 2024
ANDY Peaks’ backto-back Tamworth inflicted the first defeat of the season on Robbie Savage’s Macclesfield to progress into the first round for the first time in just over a decade after an enthralling cup tie.
LAMBS SO SAVAGE ON SILKMEN!

Macc threatened to gatecrash the Lambs’ party when Danny Elliot put the Silkmen in front before two goals in the space of a minute from Nathan Tshikuna quickly turned the tables.

In-form Dan Creaney added a third just before half-time but captain Paul Dawson pulled one back for Macc seven minutes into the restart with sub Tom McGlinchey wrapping it up for Tamworth with a fourth late on.

“We’ve had a tough week and they are a resurging side so I would have taken a scrappy 1-0 today,” a relieved Peaks admitted. “So we are buzzing to be in the draw.”

Home goalkeeper Jas Singh was making his 250th appearance for the Lambs and he was called into the action early, keeping out an effort from Elliot.
