The defending Premiership champions won all three home games in the first block of matches, against Exeter, Harlequins and Sale but lost on the road at Bath, Leicester and Bristol to leave them seventh in the table.
When the Premiership returns, on November 30, they have Gloucester at home before kicking off their European campaign at the Gardens a week later with a visit from Castres. Then they face two tough trips, to Bulls in the Champions Cup, and Saracens in the Premiership.
"It's been tough. We had Bath, Bristol and Tigers, all away losses so there is a bit of a pattern emerging there. But I don't think we are too far off," the former Reds flanker said.
"I think there was always going to be an adjustment period with a lot of older heads going last year.
But I am still very confident that after this PRC (Premiership Rugby Cup) block that we will get some good wins on the road.
