1 STUDY YOUR SKIN
Noticed changes to your skin colou texture or appearance? Is your skin itchy, sore, blistering, weeping, scaly or dry? It may be an allergic reaction, infection or skin condition, says Dr Nikita Patel, associate medical director at vitality.co.uk. 'More often than not, rashes improve on their own,' she says. 'But if you're worried, it can be helpful to take a photo to show your doctor, especially as it evolves. This can be particularly useful if it comes and goes.'
2 MEASURE YOUR WAIST
It can feel intimidating to look in the mirror if you're unhappy with your weight, but it could be a game changer. 'There's evidence to show that a higher waist circumference is linked to high blood pressure, diabetes and elevated blood fat,' warns Dr Henderson. 'With a tape measure, loop around your waist midway between the bottom of your ribs and hips. For women, a measurement below 80cm is considered low risk.' Higher?
