Leigh’s side hustle has certainly paid off

Leigh Wagstaff has finished a long day's work, but instead of putting her feet up, she has another job to do - win a coffee machine.

"My husband Brad mentioned he wanted one so that's what I'm trying to get at the moment," 46-year-old Leigh tells Woman's Day.

Leigh's love of competitions has led to her winning holidays, birthday gifts for friends and family, and even a car.

"I started entering competitions when I was a kid," she says. "I did crosswords with my nan and we won some Tupperware and a kids' book pack. Then I did a colouring-in competition and won a bag of lollies and I was hooked!"

ALL EXPENSES PAID

Growing up, Leigh persisted with her hobby, but it was when she had her daughter Lily, now seven, that her interest rose to a whole new level and she became an avid "comper".

"I was off on maternity leave and we'd noticed my drop in income, so I told Brad I was going to subsidise it with competition wins," says Leigh, who is from Shellharbour, NSW.

"He laughed and told me I was an idiot, but he's come around now!"
