Attractive, aromatic, insectfriendly and nutritious, herbs are incredibly useful garden friends. Commonly used to flavour and garnish food, they also contain antioxidants and other health-supporting properties. Frequently grown near the kitchen door for quick picking, their textured, scented foliage also complements ornamental borders. Try upright chives to edge a bed or plant statuesque fennel as a focal point.
