Us rounds up the best series hitting the small screen this season
BUPKIS
Fans of Pete Davidson will get to know the SNL alum even better in Bupkis, where Davidson plays a heightened version of himself: a guy from Staten Island navigating the pitfalls of fame while still grieving a major loss. Luckily, he manages to find comic relief in it all. Joe Pesci and Edie Falco also star. (May 4 on Peacock)
LOVE & DEATH
Take two: Love & Death is the second series based on the grisly 1980 murder committed by Candy Montgomery. (Hulu’s 2022 Candy starred Jessica Biel and Melanie Lynskey.) In this gripping drama, Elizabeth Olsen steps into the killer housewife’s shoes as she begins an affair with a fellow churchgoer (Jesse Plemons), who’s married to a close friend (Lily Rabe). (April 27 on HBO Max)
THE BIG DOOR PRIZE
Based on M.O. Walsh’s 2020 novel, this uplifting comedy stars Chris O’Dowd as Dusty, an optimist who becomes unnerved when a machine called Morpho mysteriously arrives in his small town with the intention of revealing residents’ destinies. (March 29 on Apple TV+)
