Manish Kumat revives indigenous craftsmanship and artisanal techniques through the design of this home

Walking past striking wooden ribbed double doors, guests are greeted by a foyer that sets the tone for the design journey ahead at ‘Vatsalya’- a 6,842sqft two-storey residence located in Indore. Guided by Manish Kumar, founder of Manish Kumat Design Cell, the home consists of clean lines with opulent architectural elements, combining traditional motifs with modern design.

To the left, a Madhubani painting above a console integrates organic Indian art, while to the right lies the living room, a space of both formal and informal repose, characterised by artisanal furniture and muted tones.
