Legendary figures will help new boss get Foxes in hunt

-  NEIL MOXLEY

LEICESTER players will be brought into line by Ruud van Nistelrooy using tactics employed by the managerial greats he worked under.

The unhappiness of the Foxes squad was a key factor in the club replacing Steve Cooper with the Dutchman." And he says he will be using the experience gleaned from Sir Alex Ferguson (inset, top), Carlo Ancelotti (bottom) and the late Sir Bobby Robson (centre) at PSV Eindhoven to get them in line.

When the new boss was asked directly how those managers kept order, he replied: "It's mutual respect. It's the only way you can work.

"The lessons I learned from the people thank God I worked with them.

"I looked at the squad and started to make phone calls about players, because in football everyone knows everyone.

"With two or three phone calls you hear stories about 20 players and for me it was important that you hear there are good characters there.

"That's important, that there are good people there. I look at the players, how they play.
