ACM Mar/April issue goes out with a bang with Iain Curry spending time with Frank Lowndes as he shared some incredible stories of Bathurst and racing in the late 1960s and ’70s. Could hybrid drives be the real-world bridge which moves us all from the internal combustion engine to the electric drives?
We’ve had look at hybrids this issue, and Castrol’s involvement with the sector. It’s an interesting area for thought.
As always, we’ve had a wander around to chat to some industry notables. Peter Blanshard of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers gives few tips on coping with the restrictions of the pandemic, Andrew Schram tells us about his four decades with Burson Auto Parts, and Chris Edwards shares some memories of a career with Snap-On Tools, providing hardware and equipment solutions from workshop to workshop for 30 years.
The Motor Traders Association of NSW has shared some big news in this issue, too. A trial of digital vehicle registration will kick off shortly, and it’s likely to be an extremely popular move with both the auto industries and the general public.
