Did Pope Francis always want to become a priest? This might come as a surprise to you, but the answer is no! In fact, he had a totally different dream as a little boy, as well as many different jobs as a young man, and none of them were even remotely related to being our beloved Santo Papa.
Indeed, Lolo Kiko’s journey is truly fascinating, and he has served as the perfect inspiration for our Life Purpose issue. We explore everything from what he does with his salary (page 32), to what a pope’s job entails (page 8), and even the five life-shaping choices that unknowingly led him to the papacy (page 30). But we also have to remember that it’s not just our problems or our triumphs that define us. And oftentimes, simply embracing the ins and outs of our everyday lives and offering up what we do to God is enough to make each day remarkable, just as our True Believer, St. Josemaría Escrivá, inspires us to do on page 52.
