This month TopGearSA travels back in time to relive the movie moments that etched specific cars and brands in our mind, whether it was an Audi S8 driven by a hitman, a Hummer in the terminator, a Shelby GT500 racing against the clock, or this month’s double-barrel Mustang from Bullitt.
For many, movies became the most tangible way to nurture a passion towards cars, setting our aspirations and imaginations alight to one day owning a car with a link back to movie provenance. Because here the cars were the stars, not the actors.
We sat together with the difficult challenge of narrowing our list to 25 indelible movie cars, plus some of their secrets in the smoke and mirrors art of Hollywood. This includes a look at specially designed stunt cars and a closer understanding into the world of stunt driving.
