Bringing home a new kitten or cat is really a good thing.

There are many benefits in keeping a cat at home. Their presence helps us to lower our stress & calm our mood. Before bringing a cat home try to spend time in animal shelters or cat cafes to see if your family or you are really fine in introducing a new member to your home. Do they want a kitten or cat at home?

As you know, kittens are mostly hyper and need a lot of attention. Will you be able to give that much time to a kitten? Bringing a kitten home is 15 years or perhaps many more years of commitment. He or she will require love, attention, care, regular checkups, and timely food just like any other family member.

Decide whether you want a longhair or short hair cat. While it’s your personal decision, I would like you to know longhair cats need more grooming attention than short hair cats. If you think you will go with a short hair cat just because they are short coated and won’t shed everywhere, you are wrong–“all cats shed”. If you groom them regularly, they will probably shed little.
