Chris McCullough finds a TW-25 that has recorded just 865 hours in 33 years.

After being bought at a tractor auction in England in 2007 a unique Ford TW-25 has sat quietly in its new owner’s shed in Northern Ireland ever since. And not only has it sat there for the past nine years, it also rested long in England before it was sold, sitting for over 20 years in a shed in Essex.

Not surprisingly then, this 1984 model has only 865 hours on the clock from new.

It is now owned by father and son Ford enthusiasts Henry and James Boyd from Mallusk in County Antrim. They like to collect classic Ford tractors, not just to sit in the shed but also to work on the family’s beef and arable farm.

The TW-25, however, has not budged since purchase and remains covered in dust as Henry aims to try and keep it in the excellent condition that it was in when he purchased it.

The tractor was first registered in 1984, but was not sold until the following year by the Ford Motor Company as it was a demonstration tractor bearing registration B838 XN0.

It was used by the first owner for just over two years to pull a mole plough and a McConnel shakerator to help improve 

the drainage on sports grounds in Essex at the end of the football season.
