More than just a Coilover conversion, TCI’s C10 suspension includes tubular A-arms, new spindles, a rack and pinion steering conversion, and a rear three-link design that includes a torque arm and Panhard bar in addition to the long trailing arms that this generation of Chevy pickups is known for.
As anyone who has built or restored a car knows, reassembling it takes a lot longer than disassembly did, and that’s the state we’re in now. While the hood and fenders are still off, we took the time to replace this rusted-out piece of the cowl vent. When we first bought the truck, it was full of leaves and dirt, an accumulation of crap that festered for years, causing this damage.
01 Using the combination of an air saw and a die grinder, we sliced out the offensive piece, revealing the inner structure. The opening leads to the pull-to-open vent under the dashboard. As you can see, it’s pretty rusty in here.
