A PIONEER IN THE BEAUTY industry in india, Blossom Kochhar has researched and practised aromatherapy for a quarter century! she tells us why inner beauty is what makes you truly beautiful.
Thank God - literally - for setting Blossom Kochhar offon her journey to becoming a beauty and skincare expert. At the Nazareth Convent where she studied in the Nilgiris, the nuns would put some drops of eucalyptus oil on the pillows of the girls when they caught a cold, and they would soon feel better. Similarly, when they were a bundle of nerves during their exams, the nuns would crush lemon, lavender and other natural ingredients and give them to the girls to smell, to make them relax.
Some years later, when Kochhar was married to an army man and stationed in Wellington, she was allocated some space in the army club for her salon. To enhance the appeal of the creams she made, she added perfume from essential oils. As it turned out, people who used those creams, came back to her to report that their colds or headaches were gone and their skin was looking better too - benefits that were not planned when she made the creams! This led her to research the essential oils and she found a goldmine of information in the Rasayana Tantra in the Vedas, which talks about rejuvenation and offers lots of relevant, useful information. This, truly, set her offon her journey.
