Jerry Pennington’s Devilfish was a two place mid-engine track-based roadster with side pods.
I always loved the huge fins on the 59 Impala/ El Camino, and I thought it could make a cool subject for a similar build. I did a crude sketch at the time, and shoved it inside a copy of Car Model Magazine, where it stayed for the next 45 years. Fast forward to Spring 2018 when, while thumbing through some of my old magazines, the sketch fell out. I immediately thought of the 59 El Camino glue bomb that I had picked up in a resale store for 50 cents a few weeks earlier.
