JAPANESE COMPANY MUGEN (owned by Soichiro Honda’s son, Hirotoshi) currently makes the world’s fastest EV race bikes.
The company scored its fastest TT Zero victory at 118.4mph, a huge increase against the 87.4mph achieved during the inaugural 2009 electric TT. If petrol-powered superbikes had improved at the same rate, the Isle of Man TT lap record would now stand at almost 190mph.
