This month sees Ade sorting out up his Volvo with an awesome Kenwood headunit.
A good sound system has always been one of the main highlights of a road trip for myself. Right back to my very first teenage car, a Mk3 Escort Estate which was rammed with MDF, subs and amps, all the way to the present day where I find myself spending hours on end pounding the roads between shooting mag features. The current workhorse Volvo 850 actually had a surprisingly decent sounding sound system from the factory. Component speakers, and well-built enclosures with good insulation, but the head unit was clearly dated. Having half a double DIN unit dedicated to a cassette player feels pretty useless these days; plus the Pound store line-out converting fake cassette I was using if I wanted to stream podcasts or MP3s really wasn’t cutting it.
