“Too many of us are NOT living our dreams, because we are living our fears”
I received a call from my excolleague a couple of weeks ago. As soon as we started talking, she began to cry, and this got me worried. Later, she went on to share that she was not happy with her job; and that she neither likes what she is doing, nor is she happy with her office environment. I tried to share few options that would help her leave her current job, but she was hesitant. She was in her comfort zone and taking a risk and starting anything new did not appear feasible to her. I fully empathize with her since mid- life career change is a BIG thing. Many of us have bills and rent to pay apart from a lot more responsibilities, and it is not easy to take a risk at such a juncture. However, are you not letting go of a great opportunity by not listening to your heart? Going to a place just for the sake of going, being average at what you are doing, and fooling yourself every time by managing it.
