This Christmas could be make-or-break for the couple

They’ve certainly had their ups and downs since getting together over 21 years ago, but as David and Victoria Beckham get ready for another family Christmas,we’re told things between the couple have hit a new low. Following on from their awkward appearance at the British Fashion Awards last week – where onlookers said they barely spoke to each other once inside, despite their show of unity on the red carpet – insiders close to the couple tell heat that things are extremely tense after a tough 18 months, and that Victoria is doing everything she can this festive season to pull them back from the brink.

“To say this past year has been difficult would be an understatement and, while things are still not great between them, they’re keen to use this Christmas to try to sort things out,” our source says. “They’ve spent a lot of time apart due to work and family commitments and Victoria, especially, wants to use this time to work on their issues and reconnect once more. People have been speculating that their marriage is hanging by a thread, and if things carry on like this, then this could be their last Christmas as a couple. But Vic is determined that won’t happen, although she knows it won’t be easy.

“She’s pulling out all the stops – she’s had their Cotswolds home professionally decorated, and she wants them to go away as a family to a luxury resort somewhere hot for New Year. She is keen to start 2019 as she means to go on.”
