Noor Wadhwani identifies herself as a modern soul rooted in tradition. This soft-spoken, articulate and talented designer, based in the US, has moved 11 homes in 10 years and is quite the ace at setting up a house. Her style is minimal but infused with the right touch of quirkiness. Noor is a young mother of two, currently designing a play space and a home. She also happens to be youth icon Mira Rajput Kapoor’s older sister, but remarkably— unlike most star siblings— maintains a very low profile and lets her work speak for itself. And she’s certainly popular in her own right, given her substantial following on Instagram.

Your sister Mira is identified as an icon in her own right. I’m also told that you have an older sibling. What kind of a bond do you share?

The three of us are extremely close and very comfortable in our own skin. As creatives in our respective industries, we’re always sharing ideas, championing each other and are probably each other’s biggest critics.

Most celebrities flaunt their families. Even the siblings are happy to bask in reflected glory. Was this a conscious decision on the family’s part to do so?

We were raised in a very close-knit family. As three girls, we were encouraged to pave our own path and reach for the skies with our feet on the ground. Instinctively, we’re all quite private (and content that way!), but at times, one can’t escape occupational hazards and you just have to roll with it. I’m glad I’m not the one in front of the camera!
