It’s always a treat to catch up with our columnist Kerry Katona – and as we speak to the former Atomic Kitten star this week for our exclusive shoot, she’s delighted to be joined by her daughter Lilly-Sue, who she shares with ex-husband and Westlife star Brian McFadden.
The pair have a lot to chat about, as there’s plenty for both of them to look forward to this year.
However, it comes after a “trying time” in which the family came down with a nasty bout of Covid and two of their cars were stolen just before Christmas.
“It was really awful,” admits mum-of-five Kerry.
But the 41-year-old wants to move on and tells us she’s been enjoying one of the busiest periods of her career.
Meanwhile, newly single Lilly, 19, is proving she doesn’t need a man and is busier than ever in her job as a support worker – but still dreams of becoming a lawyer.
Kerry proudly says, “She’s got huge responsibilities and I’m really, really proud of what she does. She’s a person who would adapt to any kind of situation.”
It’s an exciting time for Lilly and her 20-year-old sister Molly – who lives in London at drama school – as both of their parents are planning to get married again to their new partners. Speaking about Brian, 41, and 38-year-old fiancée Danielle Parkinson’s upcoming nuptials, Lilly says, “It’s going to be amazing.
“I actually keep forgetting as I’m so used to being asked about Mum and Ryan getting married. I love weddings so much.”
