When Ryan Reynolds announced he was taking “a little sabbatical” from making movies in late 2021, it sparked rumours of problems at home. But after stepping out on the red carpet to support her husband at the New York premiere of his new film The Adam Project on February 28, Blake Lively proved their fairytale romance is as strong as ever. The world seemed to melt away for the pair, who couldn’t keep their eyes – or hands – off each other after almost a decade of marriage.

The duo met on the set of their 2011 flick Green Lantern. At the time, Reynolds, 45, was still married to his ex-wife Scarlett Johansson, 37, while Lively, 34, was dating her Gossip Girl love interest, Penn Badgley, 35. Becoming friends first is what the A-list couple credit as being their secret to success.

“Falling in love is great, but do you like each other? That’s kinda the question you gotta ask yourself … going into it,” Reynolds told ET online. “We’ve always liked each other. We grow together. We learn from each other. So yeah, I’m lucky to have a buddy in that.”
