Your bestie or sister is soon to be blessed with an angel. Make it special for her. Three expert baby shower planners tell you how.

Showers Of Joy

ANJALI SHARMA, Gurugram birthdaysnmore.com

Sharma, who started planning baby showers three years ago along with her friend Ritu Roy, does not have set themes but believes in customising as per the client's specification. She is a believer of minimalism: For her, less is more.

Here are tips from her:

Choose the venue closer to where the mom-to-be lives so that she doesn’t have to travel far.

The time and menu for the event should be chosen carefully, keeping in mind the favourites and food no- nos of the mom-to-be.

Send customised invites which are in sync with the selected colour scheme. Cute baby motif cupcakes or cookies can be sent along with the invite.

Create a photo booth and add props designed exclusively for the specific theme.

Have the table for the return gifts set up near the entrance.

A ‘Thank You’ note should be stuck on each. Also, get customised ‘mom-to- be’ and ‘dad-to-be’ sashes and badges prepared for the couple.

It may be a great idea if you keep a wish tree or a book for the guests where they can pen down their wishes for the little one.
