Luxury Kelong Villa
WINE&DINE|September - October 2019
While luxury and sustainability don’t always go hand in hand, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts manages to marry these two seamlessly in its brand new Kelong Villa.

Luxury Kelong Villa

Built and named as a tribute to the traditional offshore stilted platforms used by local fishermen, the Kelong Villa—otherwise known as a floating villa—is located 250 metres from Laguna Bintan and is flanked by nothing but the sea, offering guests ultimate exclusivity and privacy. Guests will be transported to the Kelong Villa via the pokchai, a motorised wooden boat which is also used to hand-deliver meals to the villa.

Interior-wise, the spacious villa has been designed to offer unrivalled luxury—there’s a rain shower, double sinks and sumptuous bedding of silk and buckwheat for guests to sink into at the end of the day. What we really like about the villa is that it is positioned as an eco-friendly accommodation, void of modern amenities like wifior television, providing the perfect opportunity for guests to embark on a digital detox and spend more time with their loved ones surrounded by nature. Some fun activities to do here include playing board games, reading, kayaking, and fishing.
