DG, Doordarshan had floated a global tender for the procurement of 09 Nos. of C-Band DSNG on 28th July in 2016, after a thorough technical and commercial evaluation. Visual Technologies India Pvt. Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder and the order was placed on them on 12th October, 2017 with a delivery duration of 9 months.
CHALLENGES
DG Doordarshan had framed very stringent technical specifications for the following subsystem, to ensure a high-quality product in a compact, rugged, reliable and real offroader vehicle, which could be used anywhere in India including hilly terrain areas
• Vehicle bodybuilding with aviation grade aluminum alloy
• Automatic fire detection and suppression for entire DSNG, which is based on a patented NOVEC-1230 agent
• On board 6.5 KVA Genset for the DSNG equipment along with air-conditioning
• Complete DSNG with 1+1 redundant system with 4 camera production facilities
• Onboard test and measurement equipment for RF and base band equipment
