On a run-down campsite, TV Times is standing in front of a group of tatty caravans, one of which is emblazoned with ominous red graffiti advising us to ‘Leave!’.
Thankfully, though, we’re not on a nightmare holiday! Instead, we’re inside London’s Wimbledon Studios to watch filming for Gold’s latest star-studded spoof whodunnit Dial M for Middlesbrough, the sequel to Murder on the Blackpool Express and Death on the Tyne.
This time, coach driver Terry (Johnny Vegas) and his fiancée, tour guide Gemma (Sian Gibson), are on their way to pick up regular clients Mildred (Sheila Reid) and Hilda (Georgie Glen) to take them to a funeral in Middlesbrough.
However, when the coach Putting on a show: Jason plays events manager Darren breaks down, they stop at the creepy Shady Creek caravan park, where a hooded figure soon embarks on a killing spree!
As Gemma and Terry turn sleuths once again, they come across a host of suspicious characters including the park’s owners Jed (Phil Davis) and Evie (Sally Lindsay), permanent resident Edna (Annette Crosbie), oddball cook Susan (Joanna Page) and slimy events manager Darren (Jason Donovan).
